Friday Night Drags!

Looking for something fun to do on Friday nights during the summer?! If so, then we encourage you to take the kids and head over to our neighboring town of Hampton, GA and enjoy the summer night(s) at the Atlanta Motor Speedway! O'Reilly Autoparts sponsors the race, and it's a street style drag racing event that brings about lots of fun for all who attend!

The kids will LOVE it and you will too! If you are interested in actually racing here are some details for future Friday night races.

The race features grassroot competitions in 18 different divisions. Competing vehicles range from supercharged cars to stock vehicles and daily drivers. Contenders battle in a nightly, single-elimination tournament for trophies, bragging rights and season championship points. Drag racing competition is open to all participants for an entry fee of $20. Vehicles are required to have a working seat belt, and each driver must wear a DOT-approved helmet to race. The O'Reilly Auto Parts Friday Night Drags will also include the Show-N-Shine open competition, with seven divisions of judging between cars, trucks and motorcycles. Show-N-Shine participation is $20 and also allows entrants to participate in the weekly Track Cruise around the 1.54-mile racing surface following judging and prior to the start of drag race eliminations. Pricing for combo tickets to compete in both the Show-N-Shine and the drag racing portion of the evening are available for $30.

Spectator admission is just $8, with children 5 and under admitted free. Exterior parking is free, and infield parking is $20.Pits open at 6 p.m.; grandstands open at 6:30 p.m.; Speedway Cruise begins at 8:05 p.m.; drag eliminations begin at 9:09 p.m.

A fun time is guaranteed by all. Make sure to bring ear muffs for the kids and yourselves, just in case the noise is too much to handle. Safety first!!
